Christmas at Bishops Cottage

For a seriously stylish celebration, Bishops Cottage is available for exclusive hire. Book a private party with us and the house and grounds will be yours to enjoy at your leisure.

The family will work with you to create the ultimate Christmas in Dorset – a celebration your guests will remember for years to come. Up to 25 guests can stay here, in our 11 bedrooms which all offer beautiful views of the area. Your guests are free to come and go as they please, making full use of our facilities including the gardens, swimming pool, sun terraces and games room.

We welcome all types of guests. From groups of friends looking to escape the city, to family groups with children or colleagues on a corporate weekend away.  Choose to include outdoor activities like kayaking and horse riding, an art class or keep it relaxed and soak up this glorious location.

The Full Itinerary

Christmas Eve

2:00pm Arrival – You will be greeted by a member of our family. Enjoy a glass of Mulled Wine and delicious homemade West Country Sausage Rolls.
4:00pm – Traditional Afternoon Tea will be served in our main restaurant. Your chance to ‘Guess the Weight’ of our wonderful Christmas Cake
7:00pm – Join us for our Christmas Welcome Reception in the company of your host, Philip. A chance to meet us all and make new friends whilst sipping a glass of Bubbly.
7:30pm – Two course Christmas Eve Supper including our popular quiz.

Christmas Day

8.30am-10am – Wake up to a traditional Dorset Breakfast complete with a glass of Bucks Fizz to get your Christmas Day off to the best possible start!

1:00pm – Christmas lunch is served! Enjoy our fine 5 course festive luncheon. The winner of the ‘Guess the Weight of the Christmas Cake’ competition will be announced
3:00pm – The King’s Speech will be shown on television whilst we share our delicious Christmas Cake and coffee.
7:30pm – Our West Country Christmas Night buffet is served.

Boxing Day

8.30am – 10:00am – Breakfast is served
1:00pm – Boxing Day buffet is served
4:00pm – Afternoon Tea is served
7:00pm – Dinner is served in the restaurant

27th December

8.30am – 10:00am – A last chance to sample our Dorset traditional breakfast.
